Caldan: A Global Leader in the Conveyor Industry

The leading supplier of conveyor systems worldwide, Caldan Conveyor A/S has successfully designed, manufactured, and installed more than 4,000 conveyor systems throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Founded in Denmark in 1963, Caldan has grown into an internationally respected company, currently generating the majority of international projects from the German sales office.

“We are the one of the most important suppliers in Europe for power and free conveyors. We manufacture floor based and overhead conveyors, which are mostly used in paint plants or in the automotive industry for internal logistic systems,” said Mr. Frank Berg, Sales Manager, Germany.

Caldan has been active in Brazil since the 1990s in the telecommunications and automotive industries Mr. Berg explained: “We entered the market when our German and Scandinavian business partners started doing business in South America by building plants and factories.

The first contact we had with South America was because of our existing clients. They went over there to develop their own business, and brought us along in the back seat.”

Today, Caldan’s presence in Brazil has grown, and the company is involved in projects in both the automotive and agricultural industry with partner companies, including Dürr and Göttert.

“The latest project in the agricultural industry is for a French company, producing forklifts for tractors. They are now building a new plant in Curitiba, and together with our partner Göttert, we are supplying the conveyor system,” said Mr. Berg.
