Located 15 miles north of downtown Houston, Greenspoint community has blossomed as a district built on successful private sector relationships, which have extended internationally, in particular to Central and South America.
Working primarily with SMEs, Greenspoint carefully advises companies interested in establishing businesses in Texas. Greenspoint provides complimentary services to new partners such as helping to identify property, facilitate incentives, and promote investment in order to fuel its prosperous business environment.
Offering one of the highest tax abatements in Houston - up to 80% - the community is home to several international businesses drawn to Greenspoint’s low cost and Class A office space. Another lure is the district’s location near three major transportation corridors - namely the NAFTA corridor, which will eventually connect Mexico to Canada.
“The proximity to the Bush Intercontinental Airport (Houston) puts large parts of Central America within a one day trip,” shared Greenspoint Chief Development Officer and Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs, Regina Lindsey. “This type of accessibility is valuable to many manufacturing companies because they can distribute their product very easily from here.”
Greenspoint also boasts an incredible fiber network. “We have a lot of high-performance computing centers in the area,” shared Ms. Lindsey. “This proximity is crucial for businesses with high volumes of secure data and companies appreciate the assurance they can get to their servers if they need to.”
Across industries and through an international advisory council comprised of people with foreign market expertise, Greenspoint is proactively reaching out to Brazil.
“We are seeking relationships with economic development partners, government officials, and other development organizations,” said Ms. Lindsey. “As we go to Brazil, we are focused on making connections, using commitment and trust, which is core to Greenspoint District.”
