Subsea Solutions’ innovative well-control equipment training program employs a leading-edge approach to training for the oil and gas industry. Through custom-designed video visualization and hundreds of precise 3D printed models of subsea well-control equipment, experienced field technicians to oil and gas management personnel engage with the 3D material and models to maximize their learning capability.

Offering enormous flexibility and attention to detail, 3D printing is utilized across a wide range of industries. Subsea Solutions is the industry leader in using this technology for training purposes. This technology is changing the way one sees the world.

Subsea Solutions is the first company to apply 3D modeling to oil and gas training. The models are carefully-crafted artistic renditions with significant attention given to each component, maximizing critical details.

“We didn't want to do what everyone else was doing,” said Subsea Solutions President, Stan Bugara, “as our competitors’ training was 'death by PowerPoint.' This was our opportunity to do something totally different. We are years ahead in this field.”

Utilizing multiple educational strategies enhances the students’ understanding and engagement. Kinesthetic learning techniques increase information retention by 30%, allowing the students to manipulate the physical model. This is reinforced at Subsea Solutions’ training by the information presented in the training manual, on screen, and the instructors’ presentations.

“We don’t think inside the box,” said Mr. Bugara. “We kick the walls down and say there are no walls anymore. Knowledge is power.”

The company’s training business model introduces students to industry standards and customized training for well-control equipment. For Brazilian students, this includes attention to the specific arrangement, configuration, and functionality one might encounter while working with Petrobras, or others.

To meet their client needs, Subsea Solutions also provides well-control equipment surveyors and technicians to perform rig surveillance, equipment inspections, shop surveillance, and other on-site services.

Subsea Solutions has expanded from its office in Macaé by opening a training facility in Barra da Tijuca, offering state-of-the-art 3D training in Portuguese, and fueling development in the local oil and gas industry.
