The Most International German Trade Fair Company
October 3, 2014
As the first trade fair company to strengthen its business outside of Germany, starting in 1987 with a subsidiary in Hong Kong, Messe Frankfurt hosts 120 shows yearly with seventy taking place internationally. Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Markus Quint commented, “With 28 subsidiaries and 50 representatives worldwide, we are the most international German trade fair company.” In South America, Messe Frankfurt works through its subsidiary Indexport to host shows like Automechanika or Intersec in Buenos Aires.
Because of its central location, Frankfurt has been a top destination for trade fairs beginning over 800 years ago. The first official trade show in modern times took place in 1909, and after WWII, Messe Frankfurt has been constantly expanding. In May of 2014, Messe Frankfurt opened its sustainable KAP Europa building. It is the first congress center in the world to be awarded the Gold certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council, highlighting the pioneering nature of Messe Frankfurt.
“Around half of our exhibitors and about 70% of our visitors are from outside Germany. We have exhibitors from Brazil at many of our events around the world,” explained Mr. Quint, “Messe Frankfurt is a most relevant partner for trade fairs in Germany because of the prime location and long-term experience.” With continued expansion plans, Messe Frankfurt looks forward to welcoming more Brazilians to their events both in Frankfurt and worldwide.
