The CALDO Consortium, the gateway for Latin America students in Canada, is a consortium of nine of Canada’s top research universities with a shared goal of making Canadian education accessible to students from Latin America. The organization strives to facilitate partnerships, student exchange programs, and global research collaboration by working with universities, industry, students, governments, agencies, and NGOs across the regions.

These nine major players in Canadian higher education share common interests in enhancing bilateral student mobility, and have successfully welcomed over 700 international students to Canada in the last four years. By utilizing a network of academic advisors, CALDO ensures the correct placement and success for its students. These advisors provide help with everything from admissions assistance to invoicing support.

CALDO works with a network of partners and is always looking for “outward looking, globally-minded universities and students with similar values and interests in global knowledge networks,” stated CALDO Consortium Executive Director, Harley Dickinson,

The organization works across Latin America, but views Brazil as a key player in international student and scholar exchange. “Brazilians have asserted a significant form of global leadership through the Science without Borders program. Through this initiative, we have really formed some strong, long- lasting Brazilian partnerships,” concluded Mr. Dickinson.
