CICan: Bringing Together Brazilian and Canadian Scholars for 15 Years
February 28, 2015
With 42 years of experience, including more than 15 years working with Brazil, Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is the international voice of Canadian higher education, helping local colleges and institutes build lasting relationships with partners worldwide. By assisting Canadian schools with the internationalization process, CICan promotes international research and academic collaboration across the globe.
In Brazil, these partnerships include mobility programs such as the Brazil-Canada Technological and Professional Fellowship Exchange, an innovative initiative to bring Brazilian academic professionals to Canada for three-month research and training sessions. The program’s first cohort of 43 Brazilian teachers and administrators reported astounding success in early 2014, and the program looks forward to facilitating exchange opportunities for up to 1,000 more Brazilian professionals.
In addition to the teacher exchange fellowship program, Canada remains a popular destination for undergraduate and graduate Science without Borders students. With exchange programs in both French and English across the country, thousands of Brazilians are selecting Canada as a top choice for academics, research, and internship opportunities.
Representing dozens of institutions across Canada, CICan is a valuable and comprehensive source of information for prospective international students. Looking for a rural Canadian study abroad experience or internship opportunities in a big city? Interested in rigorous academic programs such as veterinary medicine or food sciences? With an extensive list of degrees offered in each of Canada’s provinces, CICan makes sure prospective students find the program that fits best.
