Thinking of studying at a college, university, or polytechnic in Canada? Wondering if your level of English is adequate? Here’s the inside scoop, and why you should go to Canada even if your English language skills are embarrassingly sub-par.
Think you’ve got what it takes to study in English? Most colleges and universities require you to prove your abilities by taking either the TOEFL or IELTS exam. Many schools will require a minimum TOEFL score of 70-80 or a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 to 6.5. Both exams are offered in hundreds of locations worldwide.
Not sure if your English is good enough for academic classes? Many Canadian schools offer conditional admission – meaning you can enroll after taking the school’s fast-track English pathways program, depending on your level of English. Official TOEFL/IELTS scores are not necessarily required.
