October 3, 2014

As one of the world’s foremost technology suppliers, German-based Bosch Group operates in over 150 countries in the areas of Automotive Technology, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. With over a quarter of a million employees and 46 billion euros in revenue 2013, Bosch’s success has stemmed from a set of robust core competencies: strategic far-sightedness, innovative strength, efficient processes, quality and reliability.

Bosch continually strives to match its innovations to today’s challenges, and allocates approximately half of its research and development efforts to environmental protection and energy efficiency. Mr. Carlos Eduardo Abdalla, Manager of Corporate and Marketing Communication and External Affairs at Bosch Latin America explained, “As a global leader of technology and services, Bosch works on pioneering inventions every day – sustainably and with solid values for more than 125 years.”

Celebrating 60 years in Brazil this year, Bosch currently employees nearly 9,000 people in Brazil including 450 associates at engineering centers in Campinas and Curitiba. Bosch views its presence in Brazil as a long-term local investment, and contributed to the 2014 FIFA World Cup with its security technology, solar water heating systems, and power tools. Bosch also runs the security system for the metro in São Paulo, Latin America’s largest city.

In addition to technological contributions to Brazil, Bosch proudly develops and supports  several social initiatives. Mr. Abdalla elaborated, “The Robert Bosch Institute, the social arm of the Bosch Group in Brazil, invests 3.5 million reais in local social, cultural and educational projects, such as the ‘Peça por Peça’ program, which focuses on complementary education for children as well as professional education for youngsters.”

The Bosch Group looks forward to tackling the challenges of Brazil’s increasing demand for high-tech, sustainable, large-scale technology systems. “Latin America, especially Brazil, is a strategic region for Bosch with excellent long-term development potential. Over the last ten years, our sales in the region have more than doubled and we expect that the region will contribute to double the sales in all of America by 2020,” concluded Mr. Abdalla.
