ETO GROUP: Megatrends in Electromagnetic and Sensoric Applications
October 3, 2014

Headquartered in Stockach, Germany, ETO is a leading company in the field of electromagnetic and sensoric products for automotive and industrial applications. With 1,700 employees, more than EUR 230 million annual turnover and plants in Germany, Poland, China and the US, ETO´s global footprint follows its international customers. Brazil and India are new target markets, enhancing ETO’s global presence.

Since the 1980s, ETO has been the first to supply products for ABS, Air Suspension, and Stand Alone Applications, valves and sensors for fully automated gearboxes, as well as for camshaft and engine applications, globally.

ETO is the top supplier of pneumatic solenoid valves and pressure sensors in commercial vehicle applications such as Air Suspension, Gearbox-, ABS- and EBS-Systems as well as Stand Alone Valves. The company’s portfolio also includes electromagnetical valve applications for oil and water pumps,  a variety of hydraulic industry products for machines and mobile hydraulics within off-road vehicles.

“Future megatrends on ETO GROUP’s radar are robustness, increased lifetime and high quality at competitive prices. “These trends are particularly critical for the BRICS economies where the infrastructure is less developed,” says Mr. Karsten Knipper, Business Unit Leader Commercial Vehicles.

Currently, ETO supplies highly innovative brakes and industry products to the Brazilian market. Bosch Rexroth, ETO´s worldwide biggest customer for industrial applications, receives core tubes from ETO for Brazil from its plant in the USA, and Danfoss Power Solutions uses coils from ETO in Brazil.

Reduction of noise and weight, are important technology drivers especially for new cars and trucks in areas with dense population, such as Brazil.

Further applications for safety, higher comfort, noise-, fuel- and emission reduction have been developed by ETO and will be adapted to fulfill South America’s demands.

Higher standards and regulations for innovative applications will allow the ETO GROUP to become a crucial supplier of the growing Brazilian automotive industry. The growth of ETO in Brazil is supported by ETO’s innovations, customer intimacy, and a strong cost position.

Brazil still remains a significant importer of automotive products and as the volumes grows, ETO GROUP believes that Brazil will become one of the largest automotive markets in the world and looks forward to further supplying Brazil by opening a local plant to serve its clients high quality products.

To remain successful globally, ETO plans to expand business to all BRICS markets with engineering and manufacturing capabilities, within the next five years.
