"Brazil is in Kostal’s DNA and Kostal is in Brazil’s DNA"

October 3, 2014

For nearly 40 years, the German technology giant Leopold Kostal GmbH & Co. KG has made its mark in Brazil. “Brazil is in Kostal’s DNA and Kostal is in Brazil’s DNA,” said Mr. Edson Furlanetto, the company’s Managing Director in Brazil. The company places value in local talent and truly invests in its employees, as evidenced by the fact that Mr. Furlanetto now celebrates thirty years with the company in his home country.

With three plants in Brazil, this branch of Leopold Kostal is home to 1,300 employees and boasts nearly a third of the market share in automotive electric systems. With a rapidly growing demand for cars in Brazil, Leopold Kostal plans to grow with this change and help to “shape the next generation.”

The 1.9 billion euro, 100-year-old, family-run company owes its success in part to core values including safety, energy efficiency, connectivity, and innovation. Its diverse customer base includes major international OEMs such as Honda, Ford, VW, Daimler, Audi, and Land Rover. Kostal looks forward to continuing its role as a global leader in automotive electrical systems, industrial electronics, connectors, test technology, and solar electric systems.
