October 3, 2014

With billions of euros invested in renewable energy every year, Germany leads the way in the development of solar, wind, hydropower, and biofuels energy. This year, renewable energy accounted for over a quarter of Germany’s electric power.

With strong research and development teams working throughout the country, German companies are eager to tackle global energy challenges and are rapidly expanding to Brazil, where German investment is higher than in any other country in the world.

As a pioneer of wind energy in southern Germany, family-owned SOWITEC has successfully developed numerous solar and wind projects throughout Brazil. Brazil is a key market for SOWITEC, and Mr. Matthias Pfister, Managing Director of SOWITEC do Brasil, looks forward to the company’s bright future as a leading renewable energy project developer in the country. “We see Brazil as one of the strongest potential future markets of the world for renewable energy; we believe in the Brazilian market and will focus on Brazil.”

Eager to bring the German stamp of quality to Brazil and train local partners in the industry, Eclareon is known for its policy of making information available to all. Ms. Natascha Trennepohl, Senior Project Manager at Eclareon, and Mr. Robert Brückmann, head of the Policy Department, stated the company’s attitude succinctly: “Knowledge is a common good.” As a consulting company, Eclareon brings a multilingual team with many years of experience in climate change and renewable energy in a political and business context.

These German companies and many others are sincerely invested in developing concrete solutions to the global demand for clean, sustainable energy. Working in Brazil, they look forward to partnering with local players and making renewable energy accessible on the large scale that will be necessary for booming markets such as this South American giant.

With an emphasis on research and development, experienced management, and a local presence in Brazil, the Conergy Group is excited to offer innovative solutions across Brazil’s renewable energy sector. “We want to support the Brazilian people and economy with clean competitive energy on all applications. We also see a great potential for the rooftop sector,” said Mr. Alexander Gorski, CEO of Conergy. “With the growing population and demand for energy, we have environmental and social responsibilities and we believe that renewable energy must be a core element. Through lease agreements, renewable energy is a product almost anybody can now afford, and we believe it is an attractive solution for Brazil,” Mr. Gorski concluded.
