German Oil and Gas companies Forge Strong Bilateral Partnerships across Brazil

October 3, 2014

With Brazil firmly ensconced as one of the largest suppliers of conventional oil in developing country regions, it is clear why German Oil and Gas companies are forging strong bilateral partnerships across the industry. Many of these companies are establishing operating agreements with Petrobras, Brazil’s largest energy company. While current oil and gas production in Brazil has seen steady growth since inception over sixty years ago, recent discoveries of new oil sources are already fueling an exponential increase in production, making these synergistic partnerships more important than ever.

Similarly, German-based pump maker, Leistritz, is looking to open a local office to better serve the Brazilian market. “We’re ready for the next step with Brazil,” said Leistritz Managing Director Mr. Heinz-Dieter Ross.  With a 90-year history as an innovative technology market leader and a full range of products and applications that can be adapted to local markets, Leistritz already counts Petrobras, Shell, and Statoil among clients. The company is now laying the groundwork for future business and showing its commitment using local manufacturing and content.  “We are ready to centralize our R&D in Brazil to develop the best pumps with local customization,” confirmed Mr. Ross.

Germany’s Ferrostaal has also found success in Brazil due to its understanding of the Brazilian culture and supplier environment.  With a core competence in project development and EPC contracting, the company offers general contracting of a broad portfolio of petrochemical plants with a special focus on natural gas based commodity petrochemicals. Ferrostaal’s turnkey solutions are a valuable asset to Brazil’s rapidly expanding energy industry.

With a perfect quality record over its 100-year history, Bebitz is a very well-known brand in Germany, but has also been working in Brazil for more than ten years.  The company manufactures and supplies carbon steel, stainless steel, and high alloy steel flanges and flange related products for various industries.  As Brazil’s oil and gas industry makes an important market for flanges, Bebitz has recently secured an exclusive agent in Brazil so the company can share its broad experience and special material grade products with the local market.

With Brazil’s oil and gas market growing ever more vast and complex, there is great value in the wide range of solutions offered by Germany’s most innovative and experienced companies.  In partnership, global players across the oil and gas industry can find success in this valuable resource.
