OAS: Opportunities for Financing Your US Education
August 10, 2014

Studying abroad is crucial to obtain a wide variety of skills in order to thrive in our increasingly global environment. The Organization of American States (the OAS) offers scholarship and financial aid to Brazilians for studies in the U.S. and elsewhere. The OAS is the oldest regional organization in the world, comprised of 35 member states in the Western Hemisphere and 70 Permanent Observers throughout the world. Besides being the main Inter-American Forum for political dialogue, the OAS promotes democracy, human rights, hemispheric security, as well as integral development and education.

The OAS facilitates international exchange, cooperation, and greater exposure to students, faculty and scholars to those from other nations through the interest-free loan and scholarship programs.

The OAS is the oldest regional organization in the world.

The OAS Interest-free Rowe Fund loan program grants USD 15,000 per student to help finance education, research or training at universities in the United States. This financial aid helps cover a portion of the international student’s tuition fees, living expenses, or emergencies not covered by their main source of funding. This program is available to individuals currently studying or wishing to pursue graduate, postgraduate or the last two years of undergraduate studies. Loan applications are received and reviewed year-round. For additional information visit: www.oas.org/en/rowefund, contact: rowefund@oas.org, and follow us: www.facebook.com/rowefund.

By financing a portion of their studies in the United States, the OAS Rowe Fund program helps students complete their education while at the same time fostering cultural diversity, friendship, and communication among the people of the Americas.

The OAS Scholarship programs support citizens of member states pursuing higher education opportunities through the following programs: the OAS Academic Scholarship program the OAS Partnerships Program for Education and Training (PAEC), and the OAS Professional Development Scholarship Program. For information, visit: www.oas.org/en/scholarships or contact: scholarships@oas.org.
