Founded in 1781 in Pennsylvania, Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) is internationally known for its rigorous academic courses and professors who dedicate individual attention to each student. The College has a special combination of renowned faculty and state of the art facilities.

With 94% of graduates in 2013 employed or enrolled in graduate school, the success of W&J’s programs is more than evident. The College offers top ranked degrees in biology, pre-health, pre-law, from a total of 32 majors and 27 minors. Its Liberal Arts and Sciences school includes respected programs in business/accounting, psychology, English, economics, and history.

W&J offers its 1,300 students abundant opportunities for study abroad, internships, and research.

Through W&J’s unique Magellan Project scholarship, students receive financial support from the college to develop their own research projects around the world, promoting creative thinking and entrepreneurship. This unique program encourages students to pursue their personal passions through internships, research, and study abroad activities each summer.

When you attend W&J, you also become part of its hugely successful alumni network, which includes John S. Reed, the former Chairman of Citigroup and the New York Stock Exchange; and Richard T. Clark, former Chairman & CEO of Merck Pharmaceutical Company, who is also the Chairman of Washington & Jefferson College’s Board of Trustees.

For its international students, dedicated faculty is responsible for providing support to the students prior to arrival, during orientation and throughout the year, ensuring success on campus and in the classroom.
